Description:
Switzerland has started Project Stable Land. Project Stable Land is being set up with advanced seismic monitoring station distributed evenly throughout the world in an attempt to predict earthquake patterns.

Funding: Project Stable Land will be funded by 3% of Switzerland GDP

Manpower: Switzerland will assign 100 graph analysts to the project, and 10 professors of physics. Labor to install these shall be distributed as necessary, using Switzerland's armed forces.

Additional details: Switzerland want Project Stable Land to be available to all nations, and is requesting that it becomes an international project, in order to analyse the data correctly and install the seismic monitors with reasonable speed.

Although the Federal Republic of Ellesmere does not lie on any fault lines, the nation will contribute to such a worthy cause. We are now setting up a scientific research facility on South East Greenland, close enough to monitor the fault line which runs through the Atlantic Ocean.



The facility is being constructed 75 kilometres South West down the coast from Kulusuk.

[NEW TERRITORIAL CLAIM FOR ELLESMERE: Southern Greenland]

The facility is made up of 20 Geologists from the University of Cape Sheridan and the University of Greater Iomedes, as well as 25 personnel in a support team (medics, cooks, etc.). A detachment of 50 soldiers from the Army have been deployed, to be used for non-military activity, such as construction work, setting up basic infrastructure, and being responsible for the facility's security. The total funding for the project will be 2% of GDP.

As Draconia's mainland isn't on a fault line, it has the useful island of Iceland and gibaltar one for inshore monitoring and offshore. We will put in 7% of our GDP as there are future crisis's in iceland if nothing is helped.
For gibaltar, we are sending a few frigates capped with 300crew, this includes cooks medics naval personel, the navy and geologists. On shore there will be 400 armed service personel protecting the docks, a institution being built for 20 graph anaylists and 3 geogists to work from iceland has 10% of the population, with a university strong with a geolographic campus of 500 students and 40 professors.

The Republic of Arcadia unlike some other nations already has territory close to a large fault line. However to expediate the process we are financing the development of a large ambitous project. The government will be constructing an off shore platform that will provide semi permanent housing and allow the use of large geological equipment with ease. Analysts estimate at least a 10 month build time barring any setbacks, and we will put forth 10% GDP to finance this endeavor. Upon completion, we will continue to utilize 3% GDP to fund the research.

Having received large amounts of international support, Project Stable Land begun.

With combined funds of 1,844,750 SF, the nations of Arcadia, Draconia, Ellesmere began work on the individual aspects

Arkadia began work on its off shore station, with a completion date believed to be mid 2015 (current year - 2011.) Switzerland began positioning vast numbers of seismic monitors across the globe.
The Ellesmerian town in south Greenland began construction (estimated to be finished with the basics in 6 months to a year), and Draconia began laying seismic monitors in Iceland and begun constructing there base in Gibaltar (estimated to be finished within one to two years.)

The entire project has been assessed by swiss analysts, who have placed an optimistic completion date of 2020, with the median being mid 2023, provided the project does not suffer any delays or reductions in cash or manpower.

The Island States of Gloria are vulnerable with a fault line passing nearby. As a result The Island States of Gloria have shown an interest in the research of fault lines. Rather than research the domestic fault lines due to possible public dissent, President Abbas has decided to set up an extensive research facility in Southern Africa (on the map it would be the whole of South Africa). The site will provide shelter for scientists seeking to investigate the Antartic Plate whilst an offshore international research laboratory is constructed where the Antarctic, South American and African plates meet.

This offshore location will house a population of 2000, many of which will be engineers in order to assist the researchers in the practical aspects of their job, as well as keeping the platform in one piece.

5% of our GDP will go towards developing South Africa as a fall back base while 10% go towards the construction of the international research rig. Upon completion of the rig, a steady funding of 2% GDP will flow towards the rig.

The Oligarchy of Novakarria has voted upon the subject of joining Project Stable Land, the result being 12 in favor, 3 against. Due to the lack of fault lines close enough to the Novakarria mainland, and Iceland already claimed by Draconia, the Oligarchy has dispatched 150 engineers, 75 scientists, and 300 other personelle including students, medics, cooks, and workers to Morocco, Africa. There they will construct an offshore research center to study the fault line there. The engineers and workers will see to the construction of the research center, and the scientists will confirm that it contains everything required. The students will help with various tasks depending on their course.

The Novakarria Oligarchy has decided to put forth 5% GDP into the project. They are also willing to dispatch more crews to other locations if it is required for the project's success.
