Land Rights of the Northern Union

President Collins of the Northern Union wishes to announce to the rest of the civilized world that the Union is laying claims to the following areas:

Atlantic Seaboard:

• New Jersey

• Maryland
  
• Washington D.C.
  
• Virginia
  
• North Carolina
  
• South Carolina
  
• Georgia
  
• Florida

Mid-West:

• Ohio
  
• West Virginia
  
• Kentucky

• Michigan

Contested Territories:

The Northern Union is aware that the nation of Masarinovus has also claimed Florida and Georgia, and has devised the following plan of compromise:

The Union hopes that Masarinovus will meet with Union leaders to discuss these plans, so that the matter can be resolved diplomatically. The Union would also like to suggest that the Interstate Highway system be maintained jointly in border areas of the dual-claimed territories, so that the citizens of both countries be able to pass more freely between them should they ever have to. All other territories which have been claimed by the Union will be annexed by military and naval action in 2011.

The Northern Union and the nation of Masarinovus have reached agreement on the following terms:

The states of Florida and Georgia will be under the jurisdiction of Masarinovus, with the exception of Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral, which will be territory of the Northern Union. The Union has agreed to let Masarinovus use the space center, and in return the Union will get access to the roads leading to the space center through Georgia and Florida.

April 2014- 50% of Union Military forces deployed to secure the Union's claims. The Union Navy has sailed to Panama and has sent a request to Masarinovus to be allowed use of the Panama canal.
