Re: GDP
It might not stay that way for long. Currency's fluctuate. By the way, what about maintenance for military items?

Re: GDP
My posted military expenditures include wage which is 28000, the rest goes into upkeep and support programs, as well as accounting for wage differences.

I'll add in a percent for that, will probably be arbitrary though.

The tax rate of Novakarria is 18%. The tax rate is subject to change at any time if required by the Oligarchy to sustain governmental funds.
Currently, 1 Novan = 1 USD. The currency symbol for 1 Novan is Ŋ (Alt+0331).

I just want to expand the results of the poll. I should have reopened this earlier, but I forgot all about this matter

I'm afraid I don't understand what the poll is asking.

Re: GDP
What you should have to include when you run your taxes, as in negatives.
ie. whether you should have a NHS system, a funded public transport system etc.

Re: GDP
How does this thing work?
For example, since the only thing we know we are paying differently from the average is the army, I think we should calculate it separately.
Like: (Population - army) * average * tax rate + army * army wages * tax rate.
Instead of: Population * average * tax rate
It somehow makes more sense to me don't you think?

I suppose it does. Will include it for tax purposes in the future.

Re: GDP
Military - Should we have to pay for the military?
Propaganda - Should we include propaganda in the game?
Education - Should we have to fund a public education system and build schools?
Health - Should we have to fund a public health system?
Transport - Should there be a public transport system?
Import (positive) - Should we allow profits to be gained by trading with other nations?
Other (if other, please post it) - obvious

Re: GDP
Well, since you are already asking, my votes are:
Since other than braging rights I am unsure whow it would work.
The cost should depend on the population and be expressed as a percentage like 100% being the country is doing its best to support the people (communist utopia) and 0% being the country does not care and the people have to fend for them self (medieval hellhole).
PS. I made a worksheet to calculate how much oil I am producing yearly.
If anyone is interested I could upload it for people to use.
Yes, but as I said in my last post.Military - Should we have to pay for the military?
If you can think of what effects it would have.Propaganda - Should we include propaganda in the game?

I think these and other similar expenses should be put into one category maybe called: Public Expenditures.Education - Should we have to fund a public education system and build schools?
Health - Should we have to fund a public health system?
Transport - Should there be a public transport system?

Absoultely yes.Import (positive) - Should we allow profits to be gained by trading with other nations?

Re: GDP
Hmmm..... I might reconsiter my taxes now.....
Since I'm comunist, Every buisness is government owned, thus the government earns all profits.
National Gross Income
- Worker wages
- Material cost (Purchased from abroad)
- other expendures
= National Net Income....
Since everyone needs food, they reseive a stamp book that places how much a person can buy per month. The cost of these stamp books is deducted from worker income. So worker net income is low. The little money they have is eventualy spent for non-stamp items, thus giving back the goverment's money. Thus the goverment always gets its money back. Purchases outside of RoI (Goverment purchases usualy) are the only thing that decreses avalable money. But can be replaced/incressed by selling to other nations.
Medical plans, Education, Security is provided for civilians at govenment expence....
In all technicality, I hold unlimited funds (Like Purple once stated). I just have to wait for workers to return the money so I can pay them again.
As for the military... Soldiers are paid just like workers are. And spend just as they do when not at war. They make more money, but if a soldier dies the government saves money and recieves any cash they own.
I can only produce as much money is on hand, but with such money returns, everything is relitively cheap. as long as I don't overbuy international goods, I will remain positive in money.
So I guess I really have no tax rate. Just a lend and return policy...

Re: GDP
Exactly.
I think we have found the core of a communist nation.
Or to reiterate:
Given an unlimited amount of time and a stable infrastructure a communist nation can newer have any losses from supporting its people however it can also not hope to gain any profits from them as well.
As such, it has unlimited money for wages and social expenses and these don't factor in as either loss or gain, but in turn, the only source of income is going to be foreign trade.
All in all, its a big compromise.
