Ellesmere annexes Moscow & NW Russia
Original territory: Blue
Newly acquired territory: Orange
The Federal Republic of Ellesmere has deemed it necessary to annex the city of Moscow, and surrounding oblasts. This is because much of oil infrastructure in the original Russian territory extends to these new oblasts, as well as it was deemed important to stabalise such an important region as quickly as possible. Under Ellesmerian leadership, these oblasts will now be brought back into life (via extensive government spending plans) economically, and the inhabitants will rejoice under the prosperity, freedom, and culture of our great nation. Ellesmere now has borders with 2 existing European neighbours, and will be contacting them shortly, in order to start a correspondence of cordial diplomacy.
The map is self explanatory, but I list the new Oblasts by name here as well:
- Murmansk
- Leningrad (and the land between the two)
- Novgorod
- Pskov
- Tver
- Yaroslavl
- Moscow
- Smolensk
- Bryansk
- Kaluga
- Tula
- Oryol
The military has already moved into the provinces, with very little resistance. The people of neutral Russia seem to be wise, and keen on integrating within The Federal Republic of Ellesmere, a good nation of which ethnic Russians already make up a large proportion of.
The regeneration work of the infrastructure in the provinces, is said to be ready by June next year, (2015).
